BECOME A MARRIAGE-AFFIRMING PARISH

Marriage is the primordial sacrament that reflects the love of God for mankind. His love is such that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life. He showed His love through the ultimate sacrifice of dying for our us, by taking upon Himself the penalty for our sins that we might have eternal life in Him.

 

The love between a man and a woman in marriage is called to imitate this sacrificial love. Rooted in this truth, the Church celebrates and encourages marriage which St. Paul calls a "mystery". As less and less people get married today influenced by the pervading culture that seeks to destroy or denigrate marriage, here is a resource for parishes to help them promote and celebrate marriage in their own communities.
